Frequently Asked Questions
Help with finding and comparing clinics. New to hyperbaric oxygen therapy? Read our HBOT guide and glossary.
Is HBOTmap free to use?
Yes. You can search for clinics, compare listings and view published prices without creating an account.
How do I find a clinic near me?
Enter an address and choose a suggestion to see clinics sorted by distance. You can also search by clinic name, city, state or condition, then narrow the results using the treatment, clinic category, insurance and pricing filters. Distances are approximate straight-line distances, not driving times; use Get directions on a clinic’s page to plan your route.
What is the difference between clinic types and care areas?
A clinic type describes the kind of practice, such as a dedicated HBOT center, hospital wound care center or wellness clinic. Care areas describe its listed treatment focus, such as wound care or sports recovery. Use both to narrow your search, then check the individual clinic’s services.
Can I book an appointment through HBOTmap?
Contact the clinic directly to arrange an appointment. Each profile includes the contact details we have, and some include a link to the clinic’s booking page. HBOTmap does not schedule appointments or collect treatment payments.
What do the listed prices include?
Prices may cover a single session, a package or a membership. Compare the session length, number of sessions and total price—not just the per-session amount. Check for consultation fees, eligibility requirements, expiry dates and other terms where listed, and confirm the current price with the clinic.
Why do some clinics have no prices, hours or visit information?
We show these details when they are available in the information we have reviewed. A missing section means we do not have that information to display; it does not mean the clinic lacks that service or is closed. Follow the clinic’s website link or contact it directly for details.
How do I check whether a clinic accepts my insurance?
Use the insurance filter and check the clinic’s Insurance section where available. A listed insurer does not confirm that your particular plan or treatment is covered. Ask the clinic and your insurer about network status, authorization requirements and your expected out-of-pocket cost before booking.
What does the UHMS accreditation badge mean?
UHMS stands for the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. Its facility accreditation program evaluates areas including equipment, staffing, training and patient safety. Our verified badge links to the UHMS source used to check that facility. A profile without a badge means we have not displayed verified UHMS accreditation for it. Learn about UHMS accreditation.
Does a listed condition mean HBOT is right for me?
Conditions and care areas help you find clinics to contact; they are not a personalized treatment recommendation. Confirm that the specific location offers HBOT for your reason for visiting, and discuss suitability with a qualified clinician.
What should I ask before my first visit?
Ask whether you need a referral, prescription or initial consultation; how long to allow for the visit; what to bring or wear; and whether there are any preparation instructions. Also confirm the total cost, cancellation policy and accessibility arrangements you need. Check Planning your visit on the clinic’s page for available details.
Where does the clinic information come from?
We compile listings from clinic websites, public business listings and other published sources. Where available, profile sections include a source link or a date showing when information was checked. Details can change, so confirm hours, services and prices with the clinic before traveling.
Does HBOTmap include every clinic in the United States?
The directory covers locations across the United States, but it is not an exhaustive list. A clinic may be missing because we have not added it or have not been able to confirm its location or HBOT services. If you do not find a match, try a nearby city or a broader state search.
